Jump Start Workshop: Agile and faster with low-code

Transnational E-Business Solutions, Inc. (TESI) together with OutSystems hosted a Jump Start workshop at the Lighthouse III of in.hub Building last 2018 June 26. Jump Start is a one-day training event that gives participants an end-to-end overview of OutSystems and the OutSystems Platform. This event was attended by 28 IT professionals from different companies of diverse industries.

During this event, it was discussed how a low-code platform can help each team plan, develop, change, deploy and manage enterprise-grade applications. The training included several demos, exercises and Q&A portion to get all questions answered. The developers did a web and mobile app in one day with hands-on support from TESI’s Systems Development Team – Ellery Mendoza, Geraldine Ablaza and Raphael Reyno.

The program started with an introduction of low-code and how is it beneficial when it comes to web and mobile application development by Riva Uy, OutSystems Solution Architect. During the morning session, participants were given 2 hours to develop a web application. Meanwhile, the afternoon session was dedicated to developing a mobile application. An overview of debugging and real-world examples and sample applications were also given towards the end of the program.

The day ended on high-note, bringing in positive feedback from both participants and the OutSystems team as well. TDG Deputy Chief Innovation and Information Officer Paul Villena closed the program by saying “When I evaluated OutSystems, I felt challenged, excited, nd inspired... For me, OutSystems is like a rule in any game or a rule of any sport; wherein they changed the rules on how the games will be played. So if you don't follow the rule, you mess up the game. Or worse, you won't be able to join the game.
